Have you ever done your own acrylic nails with a kit...??

I wanted to do my own acrylic french manicure using a kit from ';Sally Beauty Supply'; this is the kit:

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/3310/156鈥?/a>

It is not sold online so it has no price...How much do these kits sell for...??

Have you ever used a kit like this -or- ever done your own acrylic nails at home....what are your stories good or bad..and do you reccomend it...??

please help any advice or answers are Appreciated....

ThanksHave you ever done your own acrylic nails with a kit...??
Well, I am a licensed Cosmetologist/Instructor and have taught Nails for over 4 years. And first you should know that the link does not work anymore, so I could not see the kit that you are considering buying and using.

But, I have been in local Sally's here and they usually do not carry the better lines for acrylic nail products.

So just so you know that. The problem with some of the sub lines is that they are harder to work with and usually have a problem turning yellow.

You do get what you pay for when it comes to nail products.

Also, let me tell you, I have done my own acrylic nails for years. And it takes some major practice. It also helps to have a really good brush. Not some cheapy one, but a really nice nail brush. Otherwise, you will have a hard time controlling your acrylic.

You will have lumps in the beginning. Alot of lumps, big ones. So make sure you have plenty of files, as you will be filing forever.

And your smile lines (where the pink and white come together) are going to be way off for a while.

I would suggest practicing on some tips first to get the feel for the product.

And use clear on yourself at first so that you will not be unhappy with the pink and white.

When you practice on the tips, practice doing your smile lines.

And also work on NOT getting this stuff on your skin.

Not only is it hard to file on or super near the skin, but you can get an allergy or skin condition from it.

So practice, practice, practice before actually doing it on yourself.

Then go from there, and good luck!!!Have you ever done your own acrylic nails with a kit...??
Oh, yeah, my daughter wants to get this! I would be interested to know the price too! How would the price and trouble compare to just going to a salon and having it done?
Haha...yes, I did try to do my own acrylic nails once and it was a disaster. It was much more difficult than I thought. I will never do it again ! I found it to be much easier to just go to a tech and have her do them....just my experience, though. Good luck !!
Yes, I have and the only reason I knew how to do it because I've had it doen professionally before and saw what they were doing.

I actually did a really good job, it just took me too long the first time. After you get the hang of it, it shouldn't take you too long.

Just make sure that you follow the instructions provided and you should be fine.
ive done my own nails,it works ok, but i would suggest getting the initial set done professionally, then doing your own fills. i was able to do my fills pretty well, but when a nail brok and i tried to replace i, it looked a mess.

the kit i got was like 14.99 i think,

not from sallys but from another beauty supply store

Has anybody used the Dip Powder System by Kiss for nails? (Its a kit) is it any good?

http://kissusa.com/dippowder.html

Its 14 bucks and I want to know if it looks good or actually works! Thanks!

P.S: do u think this is better than getting glue on fake nails?Has anybody used the Dip Powder System by Kiss for nails? (Its a kit) is it any good?
i hate fake nails.... the one ur gonna buy is soo cuteHas anybody used the Dip Powder System by Kiss for nails? (Its a kit) is it any good?
its good,

but you have to use it right,

actually,

if i were you,

i would glue on fake nails,

and then cut it to how long you want the nails,

and put acrylic over top

its hard to put acrylic on,

its something professional cosmotologists learn in school.

I have an acrylic sculpture kit from Kiss, and I don't know how to use some of the nails.?

I know how to put on the french tips, and how to use the solution and powder . What I don't get however, is these other nails.. they're not clear..and they're not completely white. HELP? :( I don't get it. lol.I have an acrylic sculpture kit from Kiss, and I don't know how to use some of the nails.?
I think those are the natural tips and I saw a Youtube video yesterday tat used them and showed how to use them. I can't remember the link though. I think you apply them to your nail and file the edge between your nails and the tips and use the acrylic then paint over them. Good luck. I bought an acrylic kit from Sallys yesterday and did my own acrylics for the first time and they look pretty good today and took less than an hour to do and it's such a relief to not have my nails drilled into :shudder:

Good luck.

Gave my 8 year old a french using a sally hansen kit, her nails turned dark grey the next day.?

I bought the kit for me. I get my nails done in the salon, but this was for my toes. The overcoat polish was pearlized. My toes look good. My daughters nails looked good initially. She showed me one nail that had turned dark grey 24 hours later. Three hours after that, all her nails were grey. I removed the polish right away. Why did this happen?Gave my 8 year old a french using a sally hansen kit, her nails turned dark grey the next day.?
Allergic reaction! She may be alergic to nail polish, poor thing.Gave my 8 year old a french using a sally hansen kit, her nails turned dark grey the next day.?
A French manicure for an 8 year old? What were you thinking???

Stop playing ';house'; and ';beauty shop'; and start being a real mother. Let her be a little girl as long as you can. Kids grow up too fast, knowing too much.
8 year old girls should be more concerned about playing with other kids their age and not worrying about their nails
look on th back of the kit or nail polish. it might say that it is not intended for kids. if so, it could be too strong for her. you should take her to a manicure shop and have them look at it.

  • How do i apply the acrylics kit to my nails as a french manicure?

If it were me I'd go to a salon for a professional looking job...

What do i need to do my own acrylic nails and steps on how to do them? And I don鈥檛 wont to buy any kits?

Okay well I am 16 year old n i use to work. but then I got layed of since the economy is getting so bad so now I cant really afford to go get my nails done every 2 weeks so now I wont to go to sally's and buy every thing I need to start doing mi acrylic nails but I don鈥檛 know what I need n step on how and when to put it. So if u don鈥檛 mind telling me what I need?? When to put it?? How to put it?? And then I have one more question can I mix different kind of brands?? Like if I can get the liquid in one brand and then the powder from a different kind????What do i need to do my own acrylic nails and steps on how to do them? And I don鈥檛 wont to buy any kits?
The stuff that you would need to even start doing acrylics would cost about five times more than if you got them done professionally. And you don't need to get them done every two weeks. Every two weeks is when you need to get them filled. Not done completely over.

Ive brought a uv nails kit from riobeauty and the jel nails are brill but the glue doesnt seem to last and?

my nail tips keep falling off. Can any nail technician in the uk reccomend a good strong nail glue please that last more than a couple of hours. thanx by the way im a girl this is my boyfriends yahoo i.dIve brought a uv nails kit from riobeauty and the jel nails are brill but the glue doesnt seem to last and?
i agree with shivvy as i to use these if i have not got the time to get them done in the shop.if want to buy a glue use elegant touch 拢2.69 and works well you can get this seperate in boots and some chemists.xIve brought a uv nails kit from riobeauty and the jel nails are brill but the glue doesnt seem to last and?
most people don't know how to exactly put the tips on... you have to put plenty of glue on them, and you have to hold them, without moving, almost tight enough that it hurts, for at least 3 minutes. if you get it on your skin, then that's okay, it will work it's way loose in a day or two, and it won't hurt. But, you HAVE to use enough glue. you also need to wash your hands and dry them thourougly before you put on your tips. I like to use a hair dryer on my hands before i start putting tips on. (if its the pink glue, in the long plastic bottles, throw it out. go get the small white bottles, kinda short and squat, with the black or pink screw off top. it's much better.) good luck, hope that helps!!
you need some star nails miracle glue available from sally hair and beauty wholesalers try 118 for there no and put the glue on then dab the bottom edge on some tissue before applyng good luck xx
Hiya - good old superglue does the trick - its exactly the same as u would get in any kit or salon- i should know im a beauty therapist.
My sister has the same kit as you, I've done hers about 4 times and my mums and every time they have only lasted 3 days max. Total waste of money, you might as well go to your local nail shop and have them done every 3 weeks for about 15 quid :-)

Even better, try and grow your nails with some Sally Hanson nail strengthener from Boots or Superdrug. Its really good. Hope that helps!
HI I HAVE MY NAILS DONE ALL THE TIME IT COST ME A FORTUNE BUT I HAVE NOW FOUND SOME NAILS THAT ARE VERY EASY TO APPLY AND THE GLUE LASTS ME A MIN OF A WEEK THE ARE IN WILKINSONS AND ARE ONLY BOUT 2.99 THEY ARE IN A PURPLE BOX BUT JUST DONT PUT THEM ON STARIGHT AWAY GET A NAIL FILE AND ROUGH THE NAIL FIRST THAT WAY THE GLUE STICKS PROPERLY. HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU .

Send them back to the company saying what you have said here. They should replace the defective product or give you your money back.

p.s: A lady friend of mine used to use super glue for her nails.

I've been messing around with UV gel nails at home. I bought a great kit that included the uv light and gels.?

Can I use some sort of nail polish or nail paint along with the gels to make different color tips that will not crack? If so, do I need to file the area I want to put it on to make it adhere promptly, let it dry, cover with with gel or top coat and set it under the uv lamp?I've been messing around with UV gel nails at home. I don't really know the answer to your question, But I know that you can decorate them, before the top coat I believe so.

  • UV gel nails - is there a kit to do at home?

I have had biosculpt gel nails for years now %26amp; I love it coz it doesnt chip. Normal nail polish just doesnt last on my nails.

Its quite expensive and as I'm pregnant now I need to start saving money and wondered if there was any UV gel nails anyone could recommend that I could do at home.

Unfortunatly Biosculpt dont sell to the public.

Any ideas would be greatUV gel nails - is there a kit to do at home?
you can get at home gel kits for around 拢50 just by typing uv gel nail kit into google or any shopping site such as shopzilla. However I would not recommend doing this as uv gel is notorious in the industry for destroying natural nails if not done by the best technicians. I've seen hundreds of clients' nails ruined by gel applied by trained professionals, so god knows how bad it would be to do yourself. If you can't keep going to your maintenance appointments and have to have them removed make sure it is in done in a good salon or preferably the official bio sculpture salon, with dissolving solution not tools. When removed with tools the gel can take most of your nail off with it! Biosculpture are a good company and I'm sure the technicians that do your gel manicure will advise you of the best course of action if you can't continue with your appointments.

Where can I find a great Acrylic kit to do my own pink and white acrylic nails?

I've been getting my nails done professionally for years and I know with a little practice I can do them myself. Does anyone know a great all-inclusive acrylic nail kit for pink and whites that I can buy?Where can I find a great Acrylic kit to do my own pink and white acrylic nails?
Go to Sally Beauty and look for an acrylic brand called ASP. They have a trial kit that is like $28 or so which has everything you need to get started. It's a bit of an investment, but it's a decent brand of acrylic. If you don't want to spend that much at first, just go to like Walmart or a Walgreens and pick up an acrylic kit there for about $10 or so. I'm sure that with a little practice that you will be able to do them yourself in no time at all. It isn't difficult at all to do your own acrylic nails, so give it a try. It sure beats spending all that money in a salon! Good luck!Where can I find a great Acrylic kit to do my own pink and white acrylic nails?
Be cautious with acrylic nails, they are extremely damaging to your natural nails! The harsh chemicals used in conjunction with them open the door to bacterial infections and fungal problems on your nails.

Gel nails are a much better type, as they allow your natural nails to breathe and don't promote fungus and bacterial growth, while acrylic nails ';smother'; your natural nails and don't allow them to breathe at all.

    Good luck!
i would go to sally beauty supply...they would have everything that you would possibly need!

i want to try and do my own too. it's hard to regularly go in every 2 weeks. lol
In wal mart you can get all of the supplies for about $10. It's worth it they look professional if you get the electronic kit for nails.
yeah sallys beauty salon has them or you can go to walmart. its pretty cheap but they have some really good products in the beauty section.
i do my own nails too and ive found that rio professinal quick dip acrylics works it says on for about 3-4 weeks and simple to do x

    i agree, prob sally's

LOL, from a guys point of view... My girl friend gets small beaded stickers or of the sort, and puts clear nail polish over it. Looks nice and is inexpensive. Then again, stickers can be pricey. Better yet, get some waterslide paper %26lt;can also be used as rub on tattoos%26gt; and print your own designs, apply, and cover with polish. Sweet!Anyone Know how to make cool designs on your nails withought buying a special kit?
i use a toothpick dipped in the color then i make a tiny dot on my nail and kind of ';stretch'; the dot into lines to make my designs. i've done stars, cupcakes, cherries, hearts, checkered patterns, etc. too many to list! be creative!
Get a really fine paint brush. It lets you do intricate detail easily and it's cheap.

Depends on where in NY your headed too. You can go to a beauty store that sells hair and nail stuff. Tell them to point you to the good stuff. You can even call a few nail salons and ask them the best place to buy and even get prices. Just call the salons in the same area that your planning to buy. I do custom paint, and use an airbrush everyday. I buy a lot of stuff from this company. Just not through ebay. Here's a link to their real website. http://www.airbrush-depot.com/ I don't know how familiar you are with airbrushes, but Iwata are the best around. These Master airbrushes are basically Iwata knockoffs. There are a bunch of companies selling these under different names. Airbrush Depot are the only ones that offer replacement parts at a reasonable price. I own a couple of these and they're actually nice guns. Especially for the price. If you were to buy the same model Iwata, It would cost you $180 for the airbrush alone. I love my Iwata's, but these guns are a close second.

As far as the rest of the kit goes. I think it's a good deal. You'll have everything you need to get you started. I can't use those little compressors for the kind of work that I do, but I think it will be just fine for nail art. Here are a few links to get you started with your new airbrush.

Does anyone know or has used the Nail Grinder Kit for a dog?

I just have a few question about the nail grinder kit for anyone that know or does have it.

    1.) does it work good?

2.) does the dog stand still for it?

i am asking these question because i am thinking about buying one for my dog because it is hard to cut his nails because i am afraid that i might cut the kwik plus he got very brittle nails so can anyone let me know anything about it!

here is what it looks like

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js鈥?/a>Does anyone know or has used the Nail Grinder Kit for a dog?
I use a Dremel and have for years. In my situation I clip nails when they're really long and then touch up with the Dremel for a closer trim and smooth edges.

I would suggest you look into the Dremel (sold at Home Depot, Lowes, probably Sears too) first since that is what most of us used long before the pet stores created one for sale. Dremel is a reliable product and they've been around for years. You can also use them for things other than just grinding your dogs nails.

    Dremel works great.

Now the dog standing still is an entirely different story. Most dogs that haven't experienced having their nails trimmed in this manner may be a bit afraid. Heck, my dogs know the routine and take off as soon as theysee me pull it out.

If you can do it yourself great but sometimes it requires the help of another person if the dog isn't a willing participant.

Something to know ahead of time. Grinding the dogs nails causes heat to build up and I think that's part of the problem dogs have with this method. I suggest you grind one nail for a few seconds and then move on to the next for a few seconds. Do each nail on one paw and then go back over it a second time. Maybe a cool damp cloth kept on hand to help lower the temp of each nail you've done.

And finally, you can grind right in to the quick on some dogs so be aware of what you're doing.Does anyone know or has used the Nail Grinder Kit for a dog?
I am a professional groomer, and I offer nail grinding servie to my clients. I use a Dremel, which is essentially the same thing.

Some dogs (like my own) prefer the Dremel than to the nail clipper. A nail clipper may pinch the dogs nail causing discomfort. My dog will actually hide her feet when she even sees me reach for the clipper. I can grind her nails when she's sleeping or laying on the floor and she doesn't care.
    Hello

There are allot of these On the market now and I have one I bought that was just a plain old Dremmel Grinder and I love it so do my Pups

It is so much nicer for them than the Old clipper as seen in the TV commercials the clippers do crush the nail and for the pups with the dark colored nails you have no Clue as to where you are trimming and you can cut the Quick and really hurt them badly

So I highly recommend buying One of these as it is a definite bonus

Good luck to You and Your pups

    Respectfully Yours

    Anne
i didn't get one from petsmart, i got mine from petedge.com. and yes, it works great. we just got ours this week and used it with great success on both our little dogs, who absolutely hate having their nails clipped. it is the best $20.00 bucks i have spent on them in a while. once they both figured out it wasn't the clippers, they sat still for it. love it!!
I don't think I would get it, I think the dog would be too hyper to stand still for it, it's probably a waste of money. They have a new type of nail trimer I'm wanting to try heres the site for it:

    https://www.buypedipaws.com/Default.aspx鈥?/a>
Try a Dremel grinder. You can get them at any hardware store. My dogs don't exactly stand still, but they don't fight as much as the clippers.

I been looking for places i could buy it from and i found this one site but you have to be a professional to buy it from the site. Also they had a section where you register for an account and you have to chose whether your a professional, expert, distributor and 2 other titles and i chose distributor. Then i tryed to buy the kit but when i went to check out it said distributors have to buy over $50 worth of merchandise and im sure as hell not doing that! so is there a place where i can buy it cuz i really want this nail kit. Online or in the store it does matter. heres the link so you can see what im talkin about...

How do I use this nail/manicure kit?

So basically I got a little kit that has clippers, file, some weird thing that looks like pliers only with a curved end, some curved skinny scissors, a metal thing with a curved tip and a pointy tip, and a thing with a curved rubber tip. As you can tell from the discrpition I don't know much about this. I do want to use it and take better care of my nails though. So I need a description of how to use these tools. Thanks. How do I use this nail/manicure kit?
Hi there, cosmetologist here... 1 clip nails if needed then file edges smooth into the shape u like, if ur not sure how, look at cuticles-where nail %26amp; skin meets on top of hands- the end of nails should resible cuticle. nails should be filed while dry b/c nails will split if filed wet. 2 the curved thing w/ pointy thing and rubber tip thing are cuticle pushers take those and gently push back cuticles- works better if u have cuticle remover -buy anywhere- pionty thing on the end, clean under nails. 3 be extremly careful, plier thing(cuticle nippers) is to clip extra dead cuticles also scissors but i never use them, to be safe, instead of clippers, when done pushing, wash hands in warm soapy water and use toothbrush to gently brush cuticles. dry with paper towels to get excess water off . 4 polish 1 bottom coat 2 coats of color 1 top coat. and done!!!How do I use this nail/manicure kit?
The first thing you do when giving yourself a manicure is to soak your hands in warm water with a little shampoo in it. Then remove your hands after 5 min. rub your cuticles with a towel to remove dead skin, add some petroleum jelly to cuticles and then use the rubber tipped cuticle stimulator to push the skin back and then the metal curved tip cuticle remover to remove any dead cuticle left then use the pointed edge to clean under the nails. After this if you want, use the curved clippers to remove any pieces of skin that stick out around the cuticle. Then look at your nails and see if you want them shorter or if they need shaped, use the curved scissors to cut them then use a nail file or emory board to smooth the rough edges and shape them. The curved clippers can also be used to cut the nails or toenails. Then apply polish, let it dry really good (use your hairdryer on cool air) and then apply lotion to your hands then put on a pair of gloves for 15 min., take them off and rub the nails with a soft fleese cloth to restore the shine. Have fun and God Bless, Velle T
1.) Clippers are to clip your nails.

2.) File is to file your nails to make the tips smooth.

3.) The rubber tip tool is to push back your cuticles.

4.) The plier tool is to trim your cuticles after you push them down.

5.) One of the metal things is used to clean under your nails.

6.) I use the pointy metal tool to clean the sides of my nails (which prevents hang nails).

7.) The scissors can be used to cut cuticles as well or to cut the extra skin on the side of your nails.

To make your cuticles softer and easier to push down, use a cuticle oil (which you can buy at any drugstore). To keep your nails looking nice cut your cuticles at least once a week or when you see them growing back.

    This tool : http://www.amneelam.com/images/acd-05.JP鈥?/a>

is used to cut cuticles (don't know if you described this). You use the curved part as a razor...be careful it is sharp.

    Hope I helped!!!
Instead of using a manicure kit, do what i do and just use a nail clipper. My nails have people thinking I did get a manicure. Btw, I am a guy so I don't really like to hear that. Good Luck!

Is a nail buffing kit worth it or is it stupid?

Okay yesterday at the mall i got ambushed by one of the salesmen. Being an actress myself, I must say he did a really good job. He was selling a nail buffer kit. Now he said it lasts months but i don't really believe it. I also thought my nail kind of looked plastic but since i can't wear nail polish due to work i thought it looked like a great alternative. The kit also comes with this cuticle conditioner, it had to be 3 ounces at least, and a 9 oz water based lotion. He said since I was only 17 he'd give it all to me for $15. My question is does this sound like a stupid deal and is nail buffing a waste of my time? Or will it really benefit. I need a polished look for my acting career but do hands really matter? Is a nail buffing kit worth it or is it stupid?
Okay, maybe I'm not your regular guy, but I don't get it. Sure a cracking body, face or whatever will turn a man's head. But that's a very different matter to who we take home. Sexy is what's important. And no amount of fiddling will ever make you more sexy than how you feel.

I guess it's a bit different for actors/esses but that particular detail is dependent on the thing you're doing. Normally finger nails are a bit small to be spotted by any bar the most fastidious. As a film maker myself, my main concern will always be with the eyes - regardless of make-up.Is a nail buffing kit worth it or is it stupid?
no i don't think its a waste of time at all. since you cant wear nail polish, and us girls like to have nice nails, this is a great idea. 15$ is a bad price in my opinion, there are cheaper products you could have bought that have the same effect. but i mean if you really do like it then yes it is a good deal.
a good hand cream, a cuticle remover and a good manicure every week is all that you need put the cream at night and a pair of cotton gloves in the morning you'll see the beautiful result. your hands will thank you.
Well I got this Seacret Nail Kit for a gift and I still use it all the time. I think it was from a mall salesman but it works very well and keeps my nails smooth and shiny, which goes with any outfit.
    It's a waste.

If you want soft cuticles, put Vaseline on them.

If you want shiny nails, put clear polish on them.

If you want clean nails, WASH THEM with soap and water.
The one from the dead sea works great. But you know all you have to do is soak your fingers in warm water and the paint your nails and it works well.

I love the one from the dead sea though.
    waste of friken time!!
it is really benifit, if you dont like it after you buy it return it an get your $15 back..
    waste of time
i was at a mall when i went on vacation and a guy did the exact same thing to me and i told him i didn't want it but every time that i walked by him he tried selling it to me again so i eventually bought it just to get him to stop bugging me.. i thought that it wouldn't work at all and that i would really regret buying it but i didn't. it works wonders and it makes it look like you are always wearing a clear coat of nail polish i'm actually really glad i bought it.

the only thing that i kind of don't like about it is the moisturizer, its pretty thick and i wouldn't put it on before going out because it doesn't make your skin look smooth like other moisturizers ut i use it almost every night before i go to bed

    i hope i helped a little! :)

ok so i want to make my own nail care kit.

also what nail polish should i put in my nail care kit

    (please no wet n wild)

    that can also be affordable...

also what nail polish remover should i get?

links to all these please and thank you!Nail care kit! Pllease answer for best answer!!!!!!?
Well, it really depends on how much money you're willing to spend. I've always used products from Markwins - they're affordable and the product is very reliable, especially for its price. Also, they usually give me everything I need in a set, which saves not only money but time, since it's easier to just buy something that has all that you need.

I have the Platinum Nail Series, and believe me, everything you could possibly need for your nails comes in the kit. It's about $50, but it's really got everything and if you were to purchase everything separately, it would be well over $200.

    http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I鈥?/a>

If you don't want to spend $50, you could always get one of their smaller manicure sets at Target, Walmart, or any department store for a bargain too.

    Nail buffing kit?

Can you extend the life of these nail buffing kits? Mine has three parts, shaped somewhat like large emory boards. One is a fine grade file to clean up ridges, the second one says

';Condition'; on it and the third one is gray and has a sort of rubber surface and it's the actual buffer that makes your nail shiny.

What's the best way to clean them or take care of them so they last a bit longer than one or two uses? Can they be washed in soapy water?Nail buffing kit?
you could probably take a wet towel and wipe them off but i wouldn't suggest putting them under water.

Do you mean for acrylic nails? There are a lot of good products that you can buy at any drug store that work just as well as a salon, it just takes a little practice. Hope that helps!

i really love to have a nail art.. but i wan't to make it on my own.. where can i buy the cheapest kit here in the philippines..?I really like to have a nail art kit.. where can i buy the cheapest one here in the philippines? XD?
I cant answer that because im not in the Philippines, but you can go to a beauty salon if you want the one for adults, If you want the one for kids you could easily go to a toy store and it should be there for a fee of maybe... 45$ Price may be diffrent there.

Just bought ';vivo per lei dead sea mineral nail kit'; at mall...opinions...?

I never stop at those silly kiosks in the center of the mall hallways. But, today when I was waiting for my husband to come out of the store, a man asked me if he could show me a product on my nails. I reluctantly said yes, but was expecting to me unimpressed and just walk away. Well, he was cracking jokes about the product, telling me not to scream but to remain calm when he revealed my nails. I was kind of like...ok buddy lets get this over with. He did his thing and showed me my nails and I was actualllly wicked impressed! It looked like he had painted a shiny clear coat on my nails! They honesty and truely were....very impressive! (i know...I sound like an infomercial) I wanted to get to the bottom line so when I asked the price he said that the retail for the kit is 75. I was like...ok, even if this product layed a thin layer of gold on my nails I wouldnt pay 75 dollars....my nails are not THAT important to me. He was like...ok 50. I was like...no more than 20. He was...ok! HA. did I win or did he win? I didnt go to the mall to buy pretty nails. So hes ringing me up and he says, buy another on for 20 and I will give you 2 for free, so you will get 4 sets for 40 dollars. So now im like...you bastard why are you doing this to me. I ended up getting 4 of them bc I know that they will make great gifts, especially bc i WAS impressed by the product. So, now that I am home and I thought of looking up the products reviews online. I havent been able to find anything on the product. I have never bought a product like this before so I am wondering if I was bamboozled? Are these dead mineral nail kits a dime a dozen and always make your nails super shiny? I have used buffers before and they have not done this to my nails....so...opinions...comments! Just bought ';vivo per lei dead sea mineral nail kit'; at mall...opinions...?
I got one of those the other day, payed 拢20 for it but worth every penny. My nails look great!Just bought ';vivo per lei dead sea mineral nail kit'; at mall...opinions...?
This Vivo Per Lei Dead Sea product line is fairly new - but also amazing! They carry body butters and salt scrubs too that are in various - rare fragrances - like lilac and summer. The nail kits are various fragrances as well - Green Apple / Olive / Orchid / http://AuthenticDeadSea.blujay鈥?/a>

So...I bought one of these today. I decided to do a little research, as I was quite skeptical as well. Basically, these sell for $40 on the website, but stands like the one we bought ours from buy them wholesale for really cheap. Then they resale them for as much as they wish. No lie, the set works.

OMG! The same thing happened to me and I am not happy. I did not go to the mall to spend $130 on nail kits and body butters and salt scrubs, but for some reason the sales lady was really persuasive at the spot and I indeed paid money to buy these products that are not even worth the price!

This seems to be a relatively nice kit. It has the basic items you would need to complete a set of acrylics. Although I will say, You always get what you pay for.

It's exciting that you're willing to attempt acrylics on your own. At your age I did the same thing, and now I work as a nail technician and love it.

You'll want to make sure you read the instructions VERY carefully. Improper use of these products can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. Also, if you are not precise about following the directions your nails can lift, yellow, and have other sorts of problems.

Make sure you start by thoroughly washing and drying your hands. Sit in a well ventilated area with plenty of light. And as always, make sure no younger children are around to spill anything or get their hands on it :)

Good luck with your first attempt, I hope they turn out well!ASP Try Me Acrylic Nail Kit?
I had this problem a couple of years ago...from my experience it is totally not worth it. No matter how many times you get your nails done and think you can master what those technicians are doing, you can't. It's a lot harder than it looks, and it's especially a lot harder doing it on yourself.
yeah thats good. i did a beauty course last year and i learnt how to do acrilics. its so easy once you get the hang of it.

What are the essentials you need in an acrylic nail starter kit? and is glue the same as resin?

It really depends on the brand. Usually you need nail tips, nail glue, acrylic powder, acrylic liquid, acrylic powder brush, nail tip cutter, nail files, buffers, and primer. I use a type of acrylic that doesn't use primer (which is not that healthy for your nails). It uses a special hand wash first. But, you can only get it at a professional beauty supply. If you don't have your license you can't buy anything from them. I think Sally's Beauty Supply has all the items I listed and know that a lot of nail salons use these instead of professional products. In fact, I used to work at a few of the salons that did this. Anyway, they usually work pretty similiar to the professional products anyway. What are the essentials you need in an acrylic nail starter kit? and is glue the same as resin?
dunnoWhat are the essentials you need in an acrylic nail starter kit? and is glue the same as resin?
There are a number of items that are necessary and a must. The best thing for you to do is go to a beauty supply store and ask them. That way your there and will have access to all the product needed. They may have a kit there with everything included. I've seen smaller kits that have the electric roter file and the different coarseness file included available in department stores.

The best place to go would be the beauty supply store. Everything will be right there at your 'finger tips' lol

its to push back your cuticles so your nail polish doesnt look bumpy and its less likely to chip your nails if theyre pushed back. Basically it allows a cleaner nail polish job.Unknown item included in nail kit!?
You can make your nails appear longer when you gently push back on you cuticle skin daily with the slanted stick... also helps to do this before you paint them so the surface is ready and no paint gets on your skin.

or you could make it urself with these ingredients:

    1 paper envelope

1 bottle white or clear nail polish

1/2 to 1 teaspoon finely crushed powder eyeshadow or as needed ( you choose the color!)

    1/3 teaspoon fine glitter (optional)

Start by making a tiny funnel by snipping off a corner of the envelope. Open the bottle of nail polish and position the funnel over the top.

Pour the eyeshadow and the glitter together into the nail polish bottle (use the funnel). Mix well with a small wooden stick (like a tooth pick) or you can also close the bottle and shake well.

That’s it! Now all you have to do is test it out! Brush a little on a nail. If you’re not satisfied with the color or the sparkle, add more!

    Hope this helps! =)

It really depends on where you live. but you can probally buy it at a hair store. or you can try asking the people who do nails where to get it at.
A beauty supply house usually has those things. If you have hair and/or nail salons in your city, you will probably have a beauty supply house. If you can't find one, ask your salon owner where they buy their supplies.

Will the oster (sp?) nail grinder kit work on my GSD?

I have been looking at a few of these kits on ebay and I cant tell if they will work for his huge nails the brand I mentioned is available close to me. I looked at a few others one store clamied they are a grooming shop and thier product would work but you just never know. Anyway anyone had any success with a particular grinder on a large breedWill the oster (sp?) nail grinder kit work on my GSD?
I don't know about that oster grinder, but as a professional groomer I know that the dremel is amazing...You can get a dremel from your local lowes or home depot. Even though the dremel is small power tool it is no different than the oster grinders except the cost to replace the heads on the dremel is much less expensive.

I bought one with many different speed settings and use it on dogs ranging from teeny tine yorkies to big newfoundlands. I have noticed that most dogs prefer the dremel over clipping because it doesn't create uncomfortable pressure.

You need to make sure you know how to properly grind a nail before using one, you can damage the nail and hurt the dog if you use too high of a speed. Will the oster (sp?) nail grinder kit work on my GSD?
    It should. :]
Most dogs are really touchy about their feet. The grinder makes a loud noise %26amp; the vibration on the toes nails may be more than your dog can handle. It is worth the try if you wish to but I don't like using the grinders, I would much rather use a good sturdy nail clipper made for big dogs.

The best way to clip nails is by viewing them with the foot up-side-down. You can see the tip of the nail that needs to be clipped. Clip just up to where the quick is %26amp; not any further. If you do cut into the quick have flour, baby powder, corn starch or talc to stop the bleeding. This can be washed off when the nail stops bleeding. It is best to avoid cutting that deep cause it will cause your dog not to cooperate in the future, associating the cutting of the nails with the last painful clipping.

If a dogs nails aren't worn down by themselves it is because the dog hasn't had a chance to wear them down on hard ground, cement, asfault or in general walking. Or the angle is wrong in the hips or the shoulders %26amp; cause your dog to pad instead of walking on his toes like normal, preventing his nails from proper wear..
Yes this will work on your GSD nails.

You may have to train the dog to the noise and feel of the tools while running but it is a good quality tool that will hold up well to use on large dogs nails.
Yep, I've used it on my Basset Hounds and they have HUGE nails.

Where can I get a Nail Gel UV Kit?

I am a novice and would preferably like a started kit with the uv lamp? I don't want to spend too much money though in case I can't get to grips with applying the gel. There are so many around but I've heard that BioSculpture and Calgel are the best? Any advice/knowledge is welcome :o)Where can I get a Nail Gel UV Kit?
Let me fill you in on a few things. Calgel is crap made in Japan. Biosculptre is a joke. You are going to need a nail technician's license to purchase professional products in the first place. Look, playing around with acrylic nails - on yourself is one thing. Playing with UV gels is quite another. And my guess is that you have not had even one minute of formal training, right? Lots of things can go wrong. Why put yourself at risk? Leave it to the pros. Just my opinion...

Does the Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Kit at petsmart work for birds?

i'm going to get a bird soon and i wanted to know if the dremel pet nail grooming kit at petsmart would work for a cockatiel bird.Does the Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Kit at petsmart work for birds?
Don't bother you don't need it. They will trim their nails themselves or they break off normally. That is only for much larger birds and then you must have experience with what you are doing. Don't waste your money.

I'm around; I've had 20 or so of them over the last 14 years. Keep them away from ethernet cables. They love to chew them. That and power supply cables (the DC type power supplies). One of my hens got zapped one time. I said ';SEE I TOLD YOU SO!'; She hasn't chewed that much since then, but, she is still attracted to them somewhat. It didn't hurt her. She just went flying for a few feet and shook it off. Then she came to me wondering why. Cockatiels aren't the brightest so don't expect the intelligence of a full grown dog.Does the Dremel Pet Nail Grooming Kit at petsmart work for birds?
Take my advice and that of others Do Not buy one of these kits, you could end up with a toe less or legless bird if you are not confident in using one of these tools.

Have kept and bred various species including Parrots , there is no better tool than a good strong pair of Nail clippers

For a Cockatiel all you need is some one such as a breeder ,that will do it and show you how.

But please beware of using power tools on your bird.
No, their nails are too small for that. Go to the pet store and buy a proper fitting sandy perch. It will keep her?his nail nice an trimmed. sometimes you have to take your bird to someone to have them clipped. Use an expert here, there is a vein that runs down the nail and you Don't want to clip it. Have your birds wings clipped and nails trimmed when you pick it up. the sandy perch should do the rest
It is possible (and much safer) to teach your tiel to accept you filing his nails with an emery board. Cockatiel nails are fairly sender. First, let your teil get used to you touching his feet. Then to start, let him check out the board, hold it, mouth it, play with it. Another time, do the same, then try rubbing the board lightly against the tips of the nails on one or two toes. With patience and time, you can teach him to accept having his nails filed. ALWAYS ALWAYS use the board lightly on his nails. The possibility of filing off too much and causing bleeding is very real.
I wouldn't... I mean I guess technically it would work.. but from what I hear they are fairly loud and would probably frighten the bird... plus, if you over trim a nail and cause bleeding, the bird may not STOP bleeding and could die :(

It's better to take him/her to the vet when he/she needs a trim. . .
Don't spend the money for this. There are perches that will help with nail trimming that work great %26amp; are safe for your bird.
NO it will tear your birds toes off look how a birds toes are it wont work.

Sally's Beauty supplies has a small women's manicure set on sale right now. It comes with all the basic things you need for a manicure like clippers and a cuticle pusher. How ever you can also buy items separately. You can also pick up nail polishes they usually have a sale. A cheap but reliable brand they sell there is Nail Pro art or something its usually underneath the Orly Nailpolishes which is a nother option as well as China glaze which is a little more pricey but you can get them 2 for 8 or about then. Also you can apply for a discount card which will save you even more.

  • If you bring your own acryllic kit to the nail salon will it be cheaper?

If you bring all the acryllic stuff and just ask them to put it on for you, will the price be cheaper? If you bring your own acryllic kit to the nail salon will it be cheaper?
I don't know of any reputable salon which would do this. The reason is that truly high quality, professional beauty supplies - whether it is acrylics, gels, and other nail care items, hair styling products, porfessional hair colors, things like this, are not available for sale to anyone who does not possess a license in either cosmetology, or a nail technology, or a license in a related field. The acrylic products which are available in drugstores, and stores such as Sally's are not very good in terms of quality, and the only ones who would use these products are people who attempt to do their nails at home - a practice I do not recommend unless you have had formal nail training and know exactly what you are doing because too many things can go wrong, and often do. Its not as easy as it appears to be.

If you want to get acrylic nails, then I recommend that you go to a nail professional - not just a nail tech - who is trained, licensed, experienced, and who use proper sanitation %26amp; disinfection procedures. There are way too many inexperienced, unlicensed, and untrained nail techs out there who will ruin your nails in a variety of ways. I won't go into that here, but avoid the places like you find in WalMart and in strip malls who charge $15-$25 for a full set of nails, use dremels to file your nails paper thin, and more. These places are notorious for ruining your nails and use the absolute cheapest acrylics on the market. And they are usually filthy on top of it all, leaving you prone to infections. Yet, so many people go to them (WHY?), and then wonder why their nails hurt them afterward, and will tell you that 'acrylics' will ruin your nails. Its a bad tech that ruins your nails, not the acrylic product itself. A reputable salon will cost you more, and you will need an appointment, and so on, but the end result is so worth it.

    depends on the salon...........

As a certifed nail technician, I have never heard of a no-light gel kit. UV rays are required to cure the gel product. i would probably stay away from this even if you found it. • What are the little plastic tubes for in my nail/screw kit for? I know they go in the wall also, but how?

I'm trying to hang a picture. What are the little plastic tubes for in my nail/screw kit for? I know they go in the wall also, but how?
I think you mean the anchors. They are used when your wall is plasterboard and you can't find a stud to screw/nail into. Putting just a metal screw into plasterboard does not have much strenght for hanging things. The plastic anchor helps spread out the load. What are the little plastic tubes for in my nail/screw kit for? I know they go in the wall also, but how?
Mainer told you what they were, but I think you already figured that out yourself. First screw or nail the hanger in where you want it. If you don't hit wood, and the picture is heavy, remove the nail (screw) make the hole big enough for the anchor to be forced in. I use a phillips screwdriver ( the round pointed one) and a hammer the put the nail (screw) into the center of the anchor
you put those things in your @rse
plastic tubes are called raw plugs.... they are for screws. you drill a hole in the wall, and usually the diameter of the hole is too big for the screw thread to bite properly, so hammer one of the plastic tubes into the hole, and then screw in a screw. hey presto it bites solidly and you can hang heavy stuff off it.
they are called raw plugs .drill hole in the wall put raw plugs into drilled hole and then put ur screw in the raw plug screw in . then hang ur picture . if you try to bang a nail in the wall it may crack ur wall
drill a little hole for the plastic insert or some you can just hammer into the sheet-rock.

these expand and grab the wall better than just putting the screw or nail in.

if it is a heavy picture it is better to use the mechanical anchor that is more permanent and holds lots more weight. they make them with pointy ends you just nail in and tighten the screw.
Drill a hole for the sleeve, when you put a screw in it, it will expand, locking the screw in place. However, finding a stud and puting a screw into it is always better.

Most of the bits you describe are to do with cuticles. The two-pronged thing should be used to remove the cutucles once they have been softened. (try warm water with a bit of fabric softener)The rubber ended thing is to push back cuticles, better used if you wrap some cotton wool round the tip., the same with the orange sticks (wooden pointy things) They can be used to clean round and under the nails. How do I use a nail care kit?

How does nail lip kit work?

I am planning to use Nair for my upper lip. But first I want to know if it is good to use. And if the hair goes away is the skin going to be nice and smooth and clean or are there going to be little dots where the hair was. If you have ever used it can u put before and After picz.

Thx very much for answering my question. It would really help. How does nail lip kit work?
i used something like that once. it was sally hansen. i used it on my upper lip. it burned like crazy. i took it off, i had a horrible red mark for weeks. i was embarrassed to tell ppl that i tried to remove upper lip hair. so i told them i burned myself drinking hot chocolate. after a while, when i put lotion on my face, it would dry up on my upper lip and i had to use hand sanitizer to get it off. now, the hair grew back and the ';burn'; turned black. it makes the hair look thicker than before. and i didn't even have a lot to begin with. if u wanna remove it, go to a salon. it's so much easier. less pain and humiliation. people made fun of me for a whole year. ';you've got a little peach fuzz there'; , ';i think you need a shave';. please don't make the same mistake i did.How does nail lip kit work?
I wouldn't recommend Nair for any part of your body. However, I used the cream, and you did not specify whether yours was a heated wax.

But anyway, Nair irritated my skin so severely that it swelled up with hives in the areas where I had applied it.

I used to work at k mart and I saw the kits a few times, but I just did a quick search of their site and couldn't find anything. If I were you, I'd call each of the following stores individually and ask them to look. I know it sounds like a hassle, but people do it all the time. Besides, you might as well call them and have them put one aside for you so you know for sure that they'll have what you want there for you before you drive to their store.

They can be starter kits or professional kits.

I don't want to do other peoples nails, just my own if you are concerned about the license needed to perform on others. Please don't talk about the drill being dangerous, I may or may not use it.

    Thank you for your help!

10pts best answer.Do you know of any good acrylic nail kits? ANYONE CAN ANSWER!?
actually its not all that hard, i picked it up after only a few tries, and there really isnt much difference in what is available to the public, its just acrylic powder and the liquid.

what DOES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE, is a quality brush, i bought mine at an art store, the brush is like 20 - 30 bucks for a good one, then i trim in, into a square edge ....The brush is soft. the technique is something you just have to work at.

dip the brush, dab on towel, and VERY LITTLE POWDER, thats where most make the mistake, they try and gob too much at once...

so again, ...the actual brand doesnt matter, the ones from pharmacy work fine.

also, when i'm in a hurry and need my nails done, i've used those damn press on's, lol, but hey they've come a long way to looking pretty good. not like years ago, where you could see they were fake.

How can I buff my nails? I have a nail buffer/shaper but it doesn't have instruction so please tell me how to use it!

I also have a big kit of nailstuff that came with it!

the kit came with cuticle remover cream, nail stencils for french manicures, four step thing (it says #1 remove, #2 clean, #3 condition, %26amp; # 4 shine), nail polish (french pink, french white, and top coat + more normal ones), a nail white pincil, and some other things I don't know what to call! How do I use my nail kit?
I can't believe no one has answered this one yet!

    Going by the 1,2,3,4 thing:

    1) #1 Remove any nail polish on your nails with nail polish remover

    2) #2 Clean: If you have a nail brush, gently scrub your nails on the tops and underneath

    3) At this point, I would go ahead and trim your nails if needed with some clippers. (Some clippers look like a pair of shears- that may be one of your unknowns)

    4) #3 Condition: Did your kit come with liquid conditioning soak? If so, soak your fingenails and cuticles in it for about 10-15 minutes. It the kit incudes conditioniong cream or oil put a tiny bit of it on the edge of your cuticle (nail side) and rub it in to your cutuicle. Leave it on for about 5-10 minutes. You can also use a little hand soap and Vitamin E in warm water to soak (make sure you rinse afterwards). If you have nail conditioner that is clear stuff in a bottle with a brush, paint it onto your clean nails starting at the half moon and stroking outward to the end of the nail (leave the area around the cuticle alone. let it dry.

    5) If your kit includes an orange stick (wooden stick with angled flat ends), you can use it to gently push the cuticle back if your cuticles have grown over the nail too far. On the same note, if your kit includes a cuticle shaver (usually a plastic stick handle with a little piece of ';v'; shaped metal), you can gently use it to shave off any excess cuticle or hang nails. Be careful, it is sharper than it looks ****NEVER CUT AWAY OR PUSH AWAY ALL OR MOST OF YOUR CUTICLE- THEIR PURPOSE IS TO PREVENT NAIL INFECTION AND CUTTING IT AWAY WILL EXPOSE YOU TO IT!!***

    6) Next, file your nails. Your kit probably came with a diamond file- which is a metal finger file. Gently shape your nails with the file, making sure to file in one direction- don't saw. When you are done, take the tip of the file and round the underside of the nail, removing any nail debris that might be hanging.

    7) BUFF your nails:

OK, you didn't describe what type of buffer you have. There are several types.

    A) One type looks like a little pillow attached to a handle. You use this with buffing cream. To use, place a little buffing cream on the nail and draw the buffer over the nail going in the same direction, don't ';saw'; .

    B) the second type is the 123buffers which are either 4colored blocks or 4color emery boards.

    a) You basically start with the roughest of the colors. Draw it over your nail in one continuous motion, do not saw. only do this with a few strokes.

    b) Turn to the second roughest side and to this again.

    c) The next side should be a buffing side. If the third side is not rough, you can use 15 back and forth strokes across the nail ( if it is rough at all repeat step ';b';

    d) The last side is definately a buffer and will make your nails shiny. 15 strokes back and forth across the nail will accomplish this.

***Be careful not to buff away too much of the nail. You will get a burning sensation if you are getting too close to the nail bed. You just want to do it enough to smooth away any rough ridges on the top of the nail***

    - the white nail pencil is for painting the underside of your nail. I don't understand this, but its supposed to make the nail look longer.

  • Has anyone used an at home acrylic nail kit?

I saw one at Sally's and was wondering if anyone has done this at home and if so how easy is it? How easy is it to refill the nails every two weeks and is this a cheaper route than getting them done at the salon?Has anyone used an at home acrylic nail kit?
I wouldn't recommend it. If you're not trained to use it, you can do some serious damage to your nails. You're risking the chance of getting fungus, and overexposure to the product which will make you allergic. Also, the liquid has a very strong smell so if you're not in a properly ventilated area you're gonna get sick from it.

Go to a qualified tech, please!Has anyone used an at home acrylic nail kit?
I have been doing mine myself for years. It just takes practice. I use a kit from www.nail-u.com. They sell professional kits there that are exactly the same as the nail techs use....it is much less expensive to do it yourself. I haven't damaged my nails at all!

ya they work but go get them done it is much easier and doin it yourself will damage your natural nail more then getting them done...it is harsher in the buy it yourself kit than what they use in the salon... i am a cosmetologist and i do acrylic nails i have seen several people who have tried it themselves and had to come to get them fixed by me....dont do it your just going to waste money

    Nail kits, for artificial nails?

I want to get my nails done, but I would like to purchase a kit from a drug store, such as Walmart.

What would be the best brand kit to buy? I saw that there were do it yourself acrylic ones, or the glue ones.

Any advice?Nail kits, for artificial nails?
NOOOOOOOOOO don't do it! stay away from acrylics!

do not fall prey to the stupid fake nail thing! NOOOOO

R there artificial nail kits sold in stores that r almost the same as 1's that u get in the salon?

I want artificial nails but my mom wont let me but she will let me pu on the ones from the store if i buy them. so does anybody know any kind that work like the one from the salon. if yes where do thay sell them @?R there artificial nail kits sold in stores that r almost the same as 1's that u get in the salon?
In the nail salon, they go through a process to apply the nails. The ones in the store are just stuck on with glue. But if you can't go to a nail salon, I like the ones with the glue already on them, though...sorry I forgot the brand, but you'll know because you'll notice the package doesn't come with a tube of glue. The glue that's on them is kind of rubbery and it's very strong. If they pop off by accident, you can just stick them back on. I bought them for halloween one time and reused them for three years! I found them in CVS.R there artificial nail kits sold in stores that r almost the same as 1's that u get in the salon?
the store ones are cheap and dont work as well as someone putting the glue and everything on them, if u want a temporary look then walmart has some cheap ones

yes you can use acrylic all you need is a nail brush the acrylic powder and liquid stuff and some other bits like a file, nail prima, buffer, if you aint got any beauty wholesellers near you just go on some of there websites and order them or look out for them on ebay.

visit www.ttrgaming.co.uk and join u please,

hope this helpedAre there any do-it-yourself gel nail kits that don't need UV light?
Unfortunately there is not that I know of, Im an Esthetician and work with it, You need the UV light to cure the gel nails so they dont get tacky or sticky or deform, otherwise it has the same affect as applying nail polish and then smugding it, you need that extra little umph
Sorry if this doesn't answer your question but can't you just buy a bottle of nail polish, apply some nail polish to your nails and let them air dry?

What is the use of the white pencil that comes in the nail kits?

You put it under your fingernails to make it whiter

Does anybody know where apart from ebay that i can buy special fx nail kits from?

QVC used to sell them, but there's none in stock at the mo. Don't know if they've discontinued them.

They are sold through various beauty warehouses such as Ellison's, but these aren't open to the public. What's the purpose of the 2 prong fork like tool in those nail care kits?

What do you do with it?What's the purpose of the 2 prong fork like tool in those nail care kits?
it's a cuticule remover. to cut the cuticules along the nail but your really not supposed to cut it cutting the cutical leads to hang nail your supposed to put oil on the cuticule and push them back but i figure if you cut them just keep them mositurized with lotion so you don't get hang nail maybe too much info but hope it helpsWhat's the purpose of the 2 prong fork like tool in those nail care kits?
Is that the cuticle trimmer you're talking about? If the two prongs are small then it's probably the cuticle trimmer and they are great.

You slide it along the top of the skin that joins the nails.
for picking up those small cocktail sausages at a party as a girl just doesn,t want to dirty her nails
They are used to remove extra cuticles or callouses around your fingernail. you slide them up the cuticle and the inside sharp edge of the ';u'; shape cuts the cuticle. Be very careful or you will wind up cutting it too close and injure yourself.
If this is the V shaped item, it's to lightly push around your cuticle to remove it.
